About Our Decking
What you need to know about Composite & PVC Decking
A wood deck in eastern Idaho is a maintenance subscription: stain it, seal it, watch snowmelt and sun undo the work, repeat. Composite and PVC decking end that cycle. These boards resist rot, insects, fading, and moisture — maintenance drops to occasional soap-and-water cleaning and keeping debris out of the gaps.
We install two TimberTech systems. Composite decking blends recycled plastics and wood fibers under a durable capped polymer shell, with collections running from the budget-friendly Prime line to the hand-scraped Legacy line, carrying 25–30 year warranties. Advanced PVC decking has no wood fibers at all — it's the premium tier, with warranties up to 50 years and boards that run about 30% cooler underfoot. For properties near wildland edges, Advanced PVC lines like Vintage and Landmark are ignition-resistant and WUI-compliant, carrying Class A flame spread ratings — the strongest decking choice in wildfire-prone areas.
The install matters as much as the board. We verify framing meets the 16" on-center spacing these systems require, use manufacturer-approved hidden fastener systems for a clean, screw-free surface, and set the expansion gaps that let boards move through our temperature swings without buckling. A deck is only as good as the structure under it — and we inspect that first.
