It can — but it takes a meaningful impact to dent quality steel panels. Falling branches, wind-driven debris, and accidental impacts can cause dents in thinner-gauge panels. Heavier-gauge panels are more resistant, which is why we offer 22–26 gauge. For most residential applications the dent risk is minimal in normal conditions. If a panel does get damaged, individual panels can often be replaced — though depending on the location and whether a matching color is still available, some repairs mean working into the surrounding panels for a uniform finish.
